Baby Love.

A sneak peek of my most recent shoot with Sanjay and Anushka! It was a very nice fall day in Atlanta. Here are some of our favorite photos.

Shot with a Canon 30D and EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM

Ho Ho Ho!

I am absolutely thrilled about the following photographs!  Some of you might remember the maternity photos and Farrah’s baby photos we took last April! Maybe I’ll post up a few to refresh your memory. They were previously published on my first blog.

Katie (big sister) and Farrah, Mom and Dad did a great job posing for the camera.  This may have been the quickest, smoothest shoot I’ve ever done. Each time keeps getting better and better! We shot these photographs at their home in Atlanta.

Shot with a Canon 7D and a 50mm 1.2 L series lens. (It was HEAVEN to use this equipment – courtesy of PPRatlanta.com )

Lobster Rolls & Pale Ale

Last fall, my husband (then fiancée) and I went on the coolest vacation – of all time.

We took a 12 day road trip through New England.

Our journey started in Connecticut…and went on to New York City, Hoboken NJ, Mystic CT, Newport RI, Hyannis MA, Provincetown MA, Boston MA and back down to New York, ending in Poughkeepsie! Lovely ending spot, huh?

It’s hard to say what the coolest thing we saw was. I loved just driving. I also love how many Dunkin Donuts spots there are up north. It drove my husband crazy (he’s a Bucks guy) but I loved it.

We stumbled upon some crazy things. We stayed over night in Newport, RI and found the Touro Synagogue while walking through town one day. It looked nothing like any Synagoge I’d ever seen.  It is the oldest synagogue in North America.  It resembles the North Church in Boston because the architecture is simple, classic and Colonial. It has to be one of the most historial sites still standing in the United States.

How about the Breakers Mansion in Newport? I wasn’t that excited about going to this Historic National Landmark. But my fiancee kept saying we had to go visit. I absolutely LOVED the tour! It’s unbelievable  how advanced this mansion was, back in it’s day. Built by Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt (1794-1877) as a summer home for his family. Did you know that Cornelius’s master bathroom housed an antique tub that not only spouted warm water, but warm SALT water from the Atlantic Ocean? That’s pretty advanced for back in the day. I also think the Mansion was haunted. Just sayin’.

We drove up the cape to Hyannis, MA and grabbed a loster dinner. It was amazing. We found a great, cheap (off-season prices, yeah!) hotel room and hung out on the beach after dinner. It was so quiet in Hyannis when we were there, but it’s a mad house in the summertime.

I was super impressed with Provincetown, MA – what an adorable beach town! I highly recommend touring the Dunes. Provincetown is a place I’d like to retire to and just waste away. All I need is a beach house, lobster rolls and Cape Cod Brew. Lots of Cape Cod Brew. Please.

Ok – back to the Dunes. They are very large sand deposits that were left behind when the Ice Age Glaciers receded. They’ve been contoured and shaped by the winds over centuries. There are also several shacks still on the property. The first one was built in the early 1800′s, and they were largely populated in the 1930′s and 40′s by artists and writers looking for inspiration. Of the most famous inhabitants – EE Cummings and Jackson Pollack. They’re quite creepy though. I wouldn’t want to sleep overnight in one. There’s literally NOTHING around them but sand and grass. I don’t know why that freaks me out so much.

Lastly, I have to mention Boston. Oh Boston! I fell in love. I want a little condo in the North End near Reginas Pizza and Mike’s Pastrys. That’s my heaven. Check out my shot of the North End Church sign.

I could go on, and on, and on for days about the things we saw and the food we ate! But I’ll let you check out the photos for yourself.

p.s. the photo of the cannoli’s and lobster tail’s was from Carlos Bakery in Hoboken NJ (home of TLC’s Cake Boss. I didn’t see Buddy there – but I saw one of his sisters!)

Let’s go Retro.

My coworker Kayla and I were sitting in the breakroom at work and thought of this really cool idea for a photoshoot. You know – like ones you find of your older relatives from back in the day. Cigarettes, scotch and cards. Half smiles. You get the idea. They were a super cool couple to work with. ;o)

Farm Love.

Last year, I had the pleasure of going out to Carrollton, GA (Go Wolves!) to photograph the Nunn Family. Not only did we have a great time (and beautiful weather) but it was my FIRST time on a farm. What can I say – I’m a city girl. This family made my job easy – they were up for anything.

Eggplant & Tats

Remember the tattoo leg from a few posts ago?

Well……. I was digging through the photography from that photoshoot and I found the FUNNIEST picture!

Here’s some background on it. The whole point of this shoot was to go out to this farm at sunrise and photograph our subject Bradley on the farm. After we shot some pretty cool stuff, I had the idea to gather different vegetables and have him hold them in his hands. I figured that would show off not only his crop, but his super cool arm tattoos. Terry and I carefully placed the crops in his hands. I shot some photos and didn’t think twice.

When we uploaded the photos we saw this:

Opps! Uh….

Yeah, we didn’t end up using this photo.

But here are a few cool ones of Bradley’s tattoos!

Shot with Nikon 7D and 50mm 1.4 lens.

Hockey… I miss you.

Hockey has been apart of my life since I was born.

My parents were loyal Buffalo Sabres season ticket holders when I was growing up in Buffalo. Let’s go Buffalo!!!! (That phase does give me flashbacks of those four horrible Bills superbowl pep rallies in the Elementry school gym!) Yes, I said Elementry school. HA!

I was at the first Thrashers game played in Philips Arena; and the last. The only difference was that we didn’t know it was the last. I suppose that’s where the void started. Besides missing the game, we didn’t get to properly say goodbye. Where is the closure? What’s done is done.

As my dad says, you can’t dwell on what you can’t control.

I do know this – I miss the game. I miss being there live. I miss it being apart of my every day life. We didn’t just lose the Thrashers – we lost the entire game. All of the momentum that our hockey development department gained through youth hockey programs and leagues won’t exist anymore. Some fans hold out hope that the Phoenix Coyotes will move to Atlanta. I doubt it, not while Gary Bettman is the Commissioner.

Here are some of my best hockey shots.

RIP Hockey!

Anderson Wedding

Have I mentioned my best friend is a photographer? Her name is Kelly and she’s been a photographer for almost 15 years now – so it’s safe to say – she’s “kind of a big deal”. We work so well together – I am excited to see what the future holds for us!

We shot our second wedding together in August 2011. Our bride and groom were two of the NICEST people and a pleasure to capture.

These are a few of my favorite shots.

Miss Layna Lee and Andrew are getting married in March 2012! I chose to shoot these Engagement Photos at Piedmont Park, in Atlanta Georiga on a beautiful Sunday in September. I have to give the happy couple credit – they carved these pumpkins themselves!
